TWGHW: FREE One-Year Homeschool Curriculum!

Teaching With God’s Heart for the World

By Ann Dunagan, Illustrated by Brenda Whitmeyer
Published by Family Mission-Vision Enterprises

“A one-year unit study curriculum, especially designed for homeschoolers,  incorporating God’s heart for world missions into nearly every subject!”

Ann wrote this two-volume world missions curriculum (with over 500 pages) several years ago to assist homeschooling families and Christian educators (in both church settings and in Christian schools) to impart a fervent heart for world missions into the next generation.

The curriculum includes 160 day-by-day teaching plans, missionary highlights, motivational mission stories, crafts, songs, prayer projects, and hundreds of ways to incorporate a passion for the lost into nearly every subject (including Bible Study, Family Devotions, Reading, Writing, Geography, History, Art, Science, and even highlights for Math).

The curriculum presents a “whirlwind tour” of God’s enduring passion for missions, all-the-way-through-history and all-across-the-globe. Using weekly unit-studies, this curriculum is created to be used over a one-year school year, although it can be easily adapted to be used throughout two years. It can be used as a core curriculum guide (for elementary children), or as a supplement to another curriculum. It is written especially for elementary grade levels, but it can also be used for the whole family to study missions together.

  1. not forever . . .

But yes, it would be a bit of a job.

  2. The curriculum can be used either way. For younger children, I would also recommend some children’s books. Wycliffe has several good books.

Here is also another link of some mission books for kids (I recognize several of these books, but I have not personally reviewed this whole list).

  3. It would be a huge job for us to re-scan these pages into a larger file. Right now, I don’t have the time to do that. Sorry about the inconvenience.

  4. Feel free to just click on the PDF files and save them to your computer.

  5. Previously, we had this available in two large downloads, but many people found it too large of a file. Currently, it is only available in these smaller files.

  6. lorie says:

is there i dont have to download them one at a time? that would take forever.

  7. Brandi S says:

I am wondering if this is a whole curriculum or just a supplement. I have young children so if I wanted to spread it out over a longer time, what would I do?

  8. Toni says:

is this available just as 1 or 2 pdf files? It looks very interesting thank you so much for sharing your hard work!

  9. Tracy says:

Could you please, put an option of downloading Volume 1 and Volume 2 in one download.

  10. Carolyn Lopez says:

How do I download this to my computor?

  11. There may be a little overlap.

  12. Vickie Nee says:

Hi, I’m confused by the layout of these. The TWGHW-1.pdf seems to include pages that are already in other pdf’s. I’m trying to print things in order. Can you help? Thanks!

  13. Dear Michelle,

Currently, we do not have the curriculum in printed format. We have evaluated republishing, but the work involved in updating the material would be very extensive. Thank you for sharing this need. We will take this into consideration as we are making future plans. Bless you!

  14. Erene,

Yes, we can send the Mission-Minded books to South Africa. We would have to check with the post office for international shipping charges.

  15. Mary,

This curriculum is only available from us as a FREE download (there are a few places online you may be able to find used copies in printed format). If you are interested in The Mission-Minded Family, we do have a FREE portion available online. See this page for the link.

  16. Kristin,

This will stay AVAILABLE and FREE for at least through the remainder of 2013.

    Blessings to you!

  17. Kirsten says:

Do I need to download all this right now, or will it stay free?

  18. Mary O'Dell says:

I am really interested in your curriculum teaching with God’s Heart for the World vol. 1 and 2. Is this still available free?? is it a download or binder? I would really like to get this as my son is leaning towards missions and will be a senior next year. Our family is missions minded and would like to use it for next years schooling. I’d prefer the binding copy form. Our family is on disability as my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 2 years ago. So our finances are tight. Do you give out any scholarships or discounted??? Also am wondering on your book about The Mission Minded Family. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mary

  19. QUESTION:
I am considering using your homeschool curriculum. It calls for using a World Missions Manual. What is that and where can I get it?

    God bless,
    Caroline

    ANSWER:

    Hello Caroline!

The World Missions Manual was an adult (college) text curriculum that is no longer available. This resource was for the high school students in families using Teaching With God’s Heart for the World. You can ignore those readings and any others with material you don’t have.

At the beginning of each week is a library/media list. Using this list with Google and simply finding info on the Internet would be sufficient, combined with math and grammar.

    Blessings to you!
    Ann

  20. Erene Schwarz says:

    Hi there,
I used this curriculum almost 15 years ago with my children and I am so pleased to see that it is still around. I am getting ready to do some homeschooling for some children of “team” members in Cairo next year and would love to order the two books. Would it be possible to send them to me in South Africa?
My mail address is Mrs Erene Schwarz, c/o P.O.Box 36414, Menlo Park, 0102, Pretoria South Africa.
I would like to review it and then order whatever else we would need.
Thanks, If you can let me know what the costs are I will get the payment to you asap.
God bless you with your ministy.
    Blessings
    Erene

  21. michelle ski says:

I wanted to print this but it’s too much for my computer to handle. because it’s in such small files, the printing place is refusing to print it for me. is there any way you have maybe volume 1 & volume 2 that i could send to them as a whole? I thank you for this great resource! Sincerely,
    Michelle

  22. You’re welcome, Erika! 🙂

  23. Erika says:

What a blessing you are! This undoubtedly took so much time to write and then to scan and publish. Thank you so very much!!

  24. Anna says:

Thank you for this valuable resource! My husband and I have a burden to go to a foreign mission field. Whether or not the Lord calls us to the foreign mission field, I think this is a wonderful way to teach our children about some modern “heroes of the faith” and to help our children develop a heart for missions and evangelism.

  25. Dawn, it also took us a LONG time to get all the material scanned one-by-one to have them available for free online. May this resource be a sweet blessing to your family.

  26. You’re welcome Sandy. It makes me smile to hear that you’ll be sharing it. May little “nuggets” bring LIFE and joy and focus — with a passion for God’s Great Commission and God’s Great Commandment.

  27. You can use any Bible translation that your family prefers. Our favorite translations are KJV and NKJV.

  28. You’re welcome Julie. Hope is can be a blessing as you use this to supplement your curriculum. Blessings to you!!

  29. You’re welcome Liz. I appreciate your sweet words of gratitude. It’s a blessing this material can be utilized for free. May the Lord bring encouragement and focus to your family.

  30. Liz says:

Thank you so much for this amazing resource! I can’t wait to begin using it with our five kids! God bless you and your family! 🙂

  31. Julie Knight says:

Thanks – you have blessed me so much today. I see a well rounded curriculum to use to supplement what I already have and for future studies for our family and family devotions. Thanks for all the work you have done on this and for offering it free to homeschoolers.
    sincerely BIG THANKS.

  32. Denise says:

What bible is this written for?

  33. Sandy says:

Thank you so much for sharing this. I am very excited to use this soon with my kids!

  34. Dawn Marie says:

Thank you so much for this FREE resource! It’ll take me a little while to save all the pdf files to my drive, but it sure does look like it will be worth it. I can’t wait to get started with my children!

  35. Danette says:

Please disregard my last question. Like most things, time has solved my questions. 🙂

  36. Danette says:

I’m sorry, how do you download these files? When I click on them, I am only getting one page for each file.

  37. Sandra says:

Hi Do you know if this appropriate for a 14-16 year old to fulfill their social studies and world geo and history for High School? I have heard great things about these books!

  38. Abigail — we had to upload the smaller files a while ago, because the other PDF’s were too big (actually now, we have a bigger file capacity, so it would be possible). Unfortunately, I don’t have the time at the moment to put the PDF’s together into Part 1 & Part 2 — but this is really a good idea (although by the time I could get around to doing this, it would probably be too late for you. Sorry about that…)

Be sure to also see The Mission-Minded Child & The Mission-Minded Family. We have FREE sample downloads for you to check-out. Also, if you have teenage daughters — I invite you to see our new DARING DAUGHTERS E-Course — with weekly audios, mother-daughter mentoring notebook downloads, and LIVE group coaching sessions. We’re having a ton of fun with mothers and daughters…over at DARING DAUGHTERS at Family Leadership Online

  39. Abigail says:

Thank you SO MUCH, Ann! I am thrilled for how I can use this with my kids and my friends’ kids. Is there a way to upload the entire “Teaching with God’s Heart” book 1 and then book 2 as a whole? The smaller PDFs are helpful to do one at a time, but I would like to print the whole thing and work out a plan. My computer (mac) isn’t even opening the files yet so it feels like this is going to take awhile. I appreciate any help!
Many thanks– you are INSPIRING me tonight!
    Abigail
