God’s compassion is nothing to fear; it’s compelling and exciting. If God “moves” your heart with compassion in regards to a specific need, rest assured that He will provide all that is needed (in finances, wisdom, and connections) to do all that He’s called you to do!

To fulfill God’s purpose for our family, we need God’s perspective and His vision. God’s heavenly perspective is so much bigger than ours. God sees from the vantage point of the entire universe and all of eternity!

Lwakhakha HARVEST! – mission video

Our recent Harvest Ministry outreach to Lwakhakha, Uganda – on the Kenya border – was so exciting! The Lord moved mightily as this remote and predominantly-Muslim area was “shaken” for Jesus Christ!

Five small local churches gathered together for this first ever open-air Gospel outreach in Lwakhakha – with worship, dancing, prayer, and preaching of the Gospel. During the daytime, hundreds of local believers gathered together (with NETS Ministers Naboth, Paul, and Joseph) for a local believers training, and in the evening approximately 5,000 people a night gathered in this isolated area (standing 360 – all around the platform!!!) to hear the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Multitudes listened intently and many (approximately 1,800 precious people, over the course of the evangelistic outreach) turned from their sins and surrendered their lives to the Lord. On one evening, lightning and wind came just after the altar call – It was awesome!

These people definitely need our continued prayer support, as the Christian persecution and opposition many will face (especially newly saved wives) in this Muslim area may be great. Please pray for the five hard-working local pastors, and for the local Christian leaders, as they are beginning to follow-up on these new believers.

Thank you for your prayers, your heart for world missions, and for standing with us at Harvest Ministry to REACH SOULS for Jesus Christ. To God be the GLORY!!!

The Challenge: DAY 15 – Prayer #5

Families who PRAY!

Welcome to DAY 15 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!

Today’s video will challenge you to pray together as a family – real and honest before God – relying on His righteousness and grace, not your own works.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

A question for feedback:What are your thoughts about praying together as a family? Has this been a challenge for you, or has it been easy? Have you found any keys – or answers – that could help or encourage other families to pray together?

COMING NEXT WEEK: The BEATITUDES – with a Mission-Minded Focus!

The Challenge: DAY 14 – Prayer #4

Kids who PRAY!

Welcome to DAY 14 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!

Today’s 5-minute focus will encourage you to motivate your children in prayer. Parents usually have no problem motivating their kids in sports or school, yet sometimes don’t want to “push” their kids spiritually. As mission-minded families we especially need to encourage our kids in disciplines that matter for eternity.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

A question for feedback:
Do you encourage your kids in their personal prayer life?
How are you doing this, specifically? And how are your kids growing in the Lord right now?

The Challenge: DAY 13 – Prayer #3

Parents who PRAY!

Welcome to DAY 13 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE! Today’s challenge focuses on parents being an example to your kids, by PRAYING consistently.

Feel free to leave comments and feedback. Let’s encourage one another to become more mission-minded.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

The Challenge: DAY 12 – Prayer #2

A Place to PRAY!

Welcome to DAY 12 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE! Today’s challenge focuses on establishing a specific PLACE for your personal devotion time and quoting a prayer by missionary martyr, Betty Scott Stam, the importance of surrendering everything to the Lord.

Feel free to leave comments and feedback. Let’s encourage one another to become more mission-minded.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

(By the way, rather saying Jesus was “so busy” during His time on earth, I prefer to say that He had such a vast eternal purpose to fulfill in such a short 3-year period. One remarkable aspect about the life of Jesus is that He was never “stressed” or overly “busy-busy” like we often are.)

The Challenge: DAY 11 – Prayer #1

A Time to PRAY!

Welcome to DAY 11 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!

Today’s challenge focuses on establishing a specific TIME for prayer. Learn Hudson Taylor’s “spiritual secret” for effective ministry: TIME ALONE WITH GOD.

Feel free to leave comments and feedback. Let’s encourage one another to become more mission-minded.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

The Challenge: DAY 10 – God’s Commands #5

His TRUTH

Welcome to DAY 10 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!

Today your family will learn the HAND COMMANDS (finger motions) for the Ten Commandments #9 and #10 – about being truthful (not lying, or bearing false witness against our neighbor), and not coveting.

Day 10 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE – daily encouragement to become more effective for eternity. Today focuses on Commandments #9 & #10, with the HAND COMMANDS, along with surrendering everything to follow Jesus.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

A few questions for feedback:
Discuss Commandment #9 – As a family, do you speak God’s TRUTH? Are there times that you may tell only “part” of the truth, or mislead others by not giving full information? Do you ever struggle with lying or being deceptive? (Does your mind ever ponder or “camp too long” on lies of the enemy? Do you ever think about these lies, or speak them to others, even to yourself, rather than God’s TRUTH?)
Commandment #10 – What does it mean to “covet”? Sometimes, by merely going “window shopping” too often, or browsing through store catalogs too frequently, it can lead to “coveting” unneccesary things. As a family, discuss being content with what you have. (And would you be willing to be content if God asked your family to live a simpler life for His purposes?) Discuss the story of Jesus and the rich young ruler: What did Jesus ask of this man? Has God ever presented you with “one thing” to surrender? If God asks anything (or everything!!!) of you, don’t go away sad. Respond to Jesus, and follow Him fully!!!

The Challenge: DAY 9 – God’s Commands #4

His DESTINY

Welcome back to DAY 9 of the 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!

Today your family will learn the HAND COMMANDS (finger motions) for Commandments #7 and #8 – about keeping thoughts and actions pure (not committing adultery or “allowing” it into your home via movies or other media!!) and not stealing.

C’mon . . . Take the Challenge!

A few questions for feedback:
Discuss Commandment #7 – As a family, how are you keeping your thoughts and actions pure? Do you have standards and guards over the media entering your home? Do you have boundaries (even for moms and dads) to protect marriage purity (such as not being alone with someone of the opposite gender, guarding unnecessary phone conversations or copying-in your spouse on emails or online networking)? Are each of your kids and teens guarding God’s best (in their thoughts, actions, and modesty) for their future spouse and marriage? How?? (Do you know of resources that have helped your family in this area? If so, let us know. It’s important for mission-minded training!!!! For teens, it’s also a good day to focus on God’s definition of marriage as ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN, for life!!!)
Commandment #8 – Is your family honest before God (and not “stealing” in regards to even little things)? Does your family ever borrow things – even from siblings – and not bother to return them? Are you, as a family and as individuals, faithful to your giving to the Lord (see Malachi 3:8-12 about “robbing” God)?
