God’s Heart for Orphans
We appreciate all of our friends who help us to care for hundreds of precious children through Harvest Ministry’s orphan outreaches in East Africa and in India.
The Lord has such a heart for orphan children . . . and so do we!
God calls us to care for orphans…
- Learn to do good; Seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:17, NASB)
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27, NIV)
- When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. (Deuteronomy 24:21, NASB)
God’s justice will cover the orphans…
- Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. (Exodus 22:22-23, NIV)
- He executes justice for the or phan and the widow.(Deuteronomy 10:18a, NASB)
- Woe to those who…rob the poor of My people of their rights, so that widows may be their spoil and that they may plunder the orphans. (Isaiah 10:1a-2b, NASB)
- Do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow. (Jeremiah 22:3b, NASB)
- Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against…those who oppress…the widow and the orphan. (Malachi 3:5a, NASB)
The Bible says evil men take advantage of orphans…
- They drive away the orphan’s donkey and take the widow’s ox in pledge. (Job 24:3, NIV)
- They slay the widow and the stranger and murder the orphans. (Psalm 94:6, NASB)
- Others snatch the orphan from the breast, and against the poor they take a pledge. (Job 24:9, NASB)
God promises His love and protection for orphans…
- Leave your orphans; I will protect their lives. (Jeremiah 49:11a, NIV)
- I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:18, NIV)
- You have been the helper of the orphan. (Psalm 10:14b, NASB)
- You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror. (Psalm 10:17b-18, NASB)
- For in You the orphan finds mercy. (Hosea 14:3c, NASB)
God blesses those who are obedient to care for the needs of orphans…
- When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 24:19, NASB)
For when the ear heard, it called me blessed, and when the eye saw, it gave witness of me, because I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the orphan who had no helper. The blessing of the one ready to perish came upon me, and I made the widow’s heart sing for joy. (Job 29:11-13, NASB)

I am one of those type of children, abandoned right from Birth. I am thankful to the ALL powerful Almighty GOD for taking control over me. I cannot forget God’s promise,” EVEN IF THE CHILD IS FORGOTTEN IN THE MOTHER’S WOMB, I WILL NOT.” I do thank the LORD for many times HE made me a FATHER to the orphan children, especially in the Philippines, though I am from India.

Dear Brother in Christ,
Greetings in abundance to you through the propitious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
At this juncture, I, Pastor, Yakub.k , would like to introduce myself that according to call given by the Lord Jesus Christ, on our respective ministry behalf was being done the most yeoman gospel and social services at our operational areas here in India. God had given us abundant physical strength and valour to spread the Gospel more vehemently. We are all doing the ministry with Faith and Trust. In all aspects God was being guided and paved the way to do the gospel in the most unreached areas and villages and to this extent, we are going ahead in a Righteousness, Honestness with decent wise and pious thoughts and plans. (Proverbs: 3:5, 6) (Job: 8:6) (Proverbs: 11:3)
We were being rendered our gospel service for the last 6years with dignity and also with God’s fear. We are sincerely conducting our Sunday worships in our Five Church congregations, Conducting Fasting Prayers, Special Pray Meetings for the Women, All night prayers, Revival Gospel meetings, Youth retreats, House to house visit to pray for the sick and needy and Sunday School for the children. Our specific focus and emphasis is among caste Hindu people localities. With our precious preaching so many Hindu people have been agreed Jesus Christ as their personal saviour and redeemer. As there are only 3% Christians here in India, as such, we must have to make hectic and strenuous efforts in all aspects (Isaiah: 40:28) (Isaiah: 55: 8, 9, 10).
So far as our community development services for the following poor people in the society at our operational areas, orphan children, poor widows, poor old age people and few poor handicapped people, who are regular comers to our Churches. We are all meeting the expenses within the purview of our limited might and offerings. Therefore Brother, as you too know pretty well as all these services are Herculean tasks and as such, we are humbly and earnestly requesting and imploring that please kindly pray for the total augmentation of our respective ministry here in India. With pleasure, your physical presence here with us is highly solicited according to your tentative schedule and as per God’s Will. We will pray for your visit to India and its grand success. THE MINISTRY DETAILS
we were inspire by the Holy Spirit to deal with the little orphan children and widow because of the 11 years of war that we went through in Sierra Leone . This has given us the mandate to take care of the orphan and widow. We have about two hundred fifty orphans and widows which are taken care of every month.
The Ministry here in Sierra Leone started in 2004, from that time and now us thank God for what he has done in our mist and also we have about three branches and six pastors. We are a Bible believing church which believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and also the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also have pictures of the ministry here with us.

Remember that God is your source, and that people need to hear from the insight into God’s word and the international perspective that you can allow them to “see” through your preaching. One thing we have found is that people respond much more to a VISION, rather than to a NEED. People know that there are many horrible and overwhelming needs; but if they hear of a vision and see a genuine heart that is honest and trustworthy, God will speak to people’s hearts.
