Bududa, Uganda – Mission Video 2011:
As thousands of people crowded in to the city-center to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ (approximately 3x the total remote village population each night), we wondered, “Where are all these people coming from?” This area had NEVER had a gathering of people this large!!!). Many walked long distances. Multitudes repented to God and turned from their witchcraft and/or Islamic practices. Harvest Ministry was also able to preach the Gospel in a secondary (high) school, and minister at a special training meeting for pastors and church leaders.
Over the entire outreach (in combined total attendance over all of the meetings), about 29,000 heard the Gospel message and about 5,000 to 6,000 precious people prayed to surrender their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Many were dramatically set free, as people turned from witchcraft and false religions. (One particular testimony involved a leading sorceress woman who publicly proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord, surrendering to the Lord from the platform. Her example led to two other prominent business women coming for prayer, and surrendering their lives to Jesus the following day).
Here are a few highlights . . .
The local pastors were very encouraged, and are now working hard to follow-up on these new believers. We praise God for the opportunity to GO with God’s Good News to BUDUDA, and praise Him for all that He did among these people. Please continue to pray for the churches in this area.
“For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Thank you for praying and for sending us!
Background: Bududa, Uganda is a remote area in S.W. Uganda, in East Africa. Last year, many in this area died from a large mud slide, and Harvest Ministry was able to come in with a small semi truck, with greatly needed benevolence help. Other religions in the area: witchcraft/sorcery, tribal practices, and Islam. 55 local Christian pastors and church leaders were involved in this outreach, including 4 major churches helping with followup.
BE ENCOURAGED as Jon Dunagan shares from Luke 8:22-25 about Jesus calming the fierce storm and the fears of His disciples (concluding on Part II with a time of prayer).
As you listen, receive the word of the Lord to YOU today: “YOU’RE GOING OVER, you’re not going under. PEACE BE STILL.”
Listen to the first part of Jon’s message: “You’re Going Over, You’re Not Going Under!”
Listen to the second part of Jon’s message: “You’re Going Over, You’re Not Going Under!” concluding with a time of prayer.
May God bless and encourage you from His word, in Jesus’ Name.

Ann traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas to record six radio programs at the ministry studios of Family Life (three programs for Family Life Today with Bob Lepine and Dennis Rainey and three programs for the women’s ministry of Revive Our Hearts with Nancy Leigh DeMoss, which will broadcast at a later date). The shows focused on the importance of God’s Great Commission and being a “Mission-Minded Family.” It was an amazing experience! Thank you for your prayers (and thank you, Jesus!!!).
“The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined” (Isaiah 9:2).
In a land that has been spiritually DARK — known for witchcraft, AIDS, false religions, and even cannibalism — the LIGHT of JESUS is now SHINING BRIGHT.
Be encouraged with this 4-minute mission summary video highlighting Harvest Ministry’s recent outreach to the city of Kagadi, in Uganda, East Africa. And please continue to PRAY for these precious people!
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
Thank you for sending us!
We appreciate everyone who prayed, encouraged, and helped to support this Kagadi mission outreach possible. And we especially thank God for all the ministry leadership (and HARD WORK) given by our ministry co-workers (& NETS ministers), our entire Harvest Ministry crusade team and technicians, and all the local Kagadi pastors, ushers, and workers.
Please continue to keep all of these wonderful national ministers and their families in your prayers, along with all the new believers in both Kagadi, Uganda and Kenga, Uganda.
If you would like to become a missions & prayer partner with Harvest Ministry, just send us your mailing address (for USA & Canada addresses), and we’d be happy to send you our monthly ministry newsletter.

Interview on “He’s Alive” Radio
Our kids need to know that there’s a world beyond ourselves; there’s a world beyond our house; there’s even a world beyond our local city. The whole world desperately needs to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, and our children need to hear about this need and God’s bigger perspective.
In this audio file, you can listen to Ann as she talks about having a The Mission Minded Family, and some practical ideas to combat today’s “Me-First” culture. As Christian parents, we need to focus our families on God’s Great Commission . . . and live for eternity.

Introducing Daring Daughters
On BlogTalk Radio — with co-hosts Ann and Christi DunaganListen to DaringDaughters: show #1
— on BlogTalkRadio
30 minutes — During their very first “TESTER” blogtalk radio broadcast, Ann and Christi learn “on-their-feet” about how to utilize this online media tool as they present an introduction to their new vision for Daring Daughters. They chat about true beauty, what it means to “cry” for the needs of this world, the importance of being to content during a season of waiting (when “hope deferred makes the heart sick”), and the powerful potential of teen-girl influence to make a difference in the world. Key verses include: Jeremiah 9:17,18,20, Romans 10:15, and Proverbs 13:12.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when desire comes, it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12)
Daring Daughters Chat about Romance
On BlogTalk Radio — with co-hosts Ann and Christi DunaganListen to DaringDaughters: show #2
— on BlogTalkRadio
30 minutes — During this second broadcast, Ann & Christi continue to learn the logistics of blogtalk radio (with a few kinks!!!) as they share from their hearts to inspire girls to purity and godly romance. As Daring Daughters, we’re called to be bright lights in a dark world. They chat about trusting God in the area of romance and love, and Christi shares a bit about her recent engagement to Trae Childs. A godly relationship and future marriage should “multiply” the call of God and His purpose on your life, not divide it. Key verses include: Jeremiah 9:17,18,20 and Proverbs 31:12
Referring to the Virtuous Woman: “She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” (Proverbs 31:12)
Daring Daughters Chat about Darkness
On BlogTalk Radio — with co-hosts Ann and Christi DunaganListen to Daring Daughters show #3
–on Blog Talk Radio
30 minutes — On this third broadcast, Ann & Christi chat about how to be a pure girl with a heart to shine God’s light to unsaved girls caught in a lifestyle (or slavery) of impurity and darkness? When we’ve been blessed with purity and parental protection, how can we have a heart for girls who are impure and immodest, and lost? Ann shares about discussions with several international missionaries she recently met at a Global Missions Conference in Alaska, including a homeschool missionary mom (with three daring daughters) who ministers in Costa Rica to expose the evils of human trafficking and shares the love of Jesus (on a regular basis) to prostitutes on the streets. Christi also talks about several books she recently reviewed, contrasting Rob Bell’s message in Love Wins (which we don’t recommend) to awesome books like Radical by David Platt, Erasing Hell by Francis Chan, and Jesus Freaks by dc Talk and The Voice of the Martyrs. A Key Quote from the broadcast: “Never pity missionaries; envy them. They are where the real action is, where life and death, sin and grace, Heaven and Hell converge.” –Robert C. Shannon
Daring Daughters Chat about Sin
On BlogTalk Radio — with co-hosts Ann and Christi DunaganListen to Daring Daughters #4
— on Blog Talk Radio
30 minutes — On this fourth broadcast, Ann & Christi discuss the issue of “sin” from a biblical and practical perspective, and chat about living for God in righteousness, by his grace. What is sin, and are some sins worse than others? As Daring Daughters, how can we keep a heart fervent toward God, with compassion for the lost and those trapped in sin without religious pride? How can we stay sensitive to quickly repent and turn from our own sins as God convicts our hearts? Bible verses discussed include: I Peter 2:24, Isiah 59:2, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, and I Corinthians 10:13.
Key Verse: Isaiah 59: 2 “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.”
A Daring Daughter: Amy Carmichael
On blogtalk radio — with co-hosts, Ann & Christi DunaganListen to DaringDaughters show #5
— on Blog Talk Radio
On this broadcast, you’ll learn about an exciting Daring Daughter from history, Amy Carmichael. Christi opens the program by sharing how this courageous missionary to India has been a role model in her life, and then reads a compelling vision Amy Carmichael wrote, called “Thy Brother’s Blood” — about hearing the cry of the lost.
Ann shares from her heart about how to have a missions-heart while maintaining a heart for being a mom, and how to balance multiple callings to follow the Lord, have a happy marriage, raise God-loving children, and to still keep world missions and reaching the lost as a priority in life. As Ann quotes from author, Gregg Harris, “God does not give conflicting obligations. Every calling from God is mutually compatible with every other calling that is from God.” Having a family does not need to detract from a call to ministry; a family can multiply God’s calling, not only now, but in future generations.
Key Quote: (from Thy Brother’s Blood, by Amy Carmichael) ” . . . and over and over they fell, like a waterfall of souls.”

PRAY for people trapped in prostitution and human trafficking in Costa Rica
— Daring Daughters, let’s stir our hearts to PRAY for a huge dark need. At the Global Missions Conference in Alaska, Ann interviewed Costa Rica missionary Elizabeth Gilroy (also a mom with three daring daughters) who has a deep heart for people (including young girls) who are literally enslaved through human trafficking. Elizabeth regularly shares Jesus, face-to-face, with prostitutes on the streets. Her perspective is challenging.
PRAY for believers facing flooding in Cambodia
— Daughters, this precious lady, Joyce Morris is a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) missionary to Cambodia, working with her husband to lead churches. As we were enjoying the conference, Joyce and her husband were receiving urgent texts from pastors & close friends in Cambodia, needing help for people dying in the flooding. During a small group prayer time with just the missionaries, Joyce broke down and began weeping for the needs in Cambodia. I asked her to share the needs with you. These people need PRAYER!!!
KELOLife Television in Aberdeen, South Dakota ran a feature about one of Harvest Ministry’s sponsors, an energetic 10-year-old, named Ethan, who’s been selling lemonade (for three years!!!) to support his orphan friend, Allan, in Uganda. Ethan really takes his sponsorship commitment seriously!
It’s a sweet news clip . . . and a blessing!
Lemonade for an Orphan Friend!
You can view the TV station’s video file right here. And if any of you could take a moment to log in to view the article on the TV station’s website, it would be wonderful to add some positive comments about the feature. Please keep Harvest Ministry and all of our orphan children (currently over 700 kids!) in your thoughts and prayers.
P.S. Ethan was inwardly “moved with compassion” with a specific burden on his heart; he felt that if he didn’t raise that last $4, his orphan friend would “die.” We’re all so inspired by Ethan’s commitment; but be assured that if any of our sponsors are unable to meet their commitment (of $1/day), we’ll simply trust God together for His provision!!! Amen???
You are invited to take a FREE Online Mission Class:
Introducing the 40-DAY Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE!!!It’s eight-weeks to becoming more effective . . . for eternity! (Just 5 minutes a day!)
For several months, this idea for a “40-Day Mission-Minded Family CHALLENGE” has been stirring in my heart. The vision is to provide eight weeks (Monday through Friday) of FREE on-line encouragement to motivate you and your family to become more effective for eternity.
I warn you. These online videos won’t be slick, glossy, or high-tech; but they will be biblical, focused, and heart-felt. In just 5 minutes a day, you and your family will be motivated to love God, and to love others. You’ll be challenged to guard the gates of your home, to raise the bar for your kids (for God’s glory), and to move beyond the typical self-centered focus our “Me-First” culture to focus more on the huge needs of our world and to seek God for your part in His Great Commission.
Throughout these 40 days, we’ll be referencing our mission-minded set:
- The Mission-Minded Child – Raising a New Generation to Fulfill God’s Purpose
- The Mission-Minded Family – Releasing Your Family to God’s Destiny
This 40-Day CHALLENGE will give you the opportunity to get a FREE “sneak-peak” of these resources . . . or if you can follow along with your own copies, you’ll be encouraged to apply the vision of these mission-minded books into your daily family life.
Every day will include a hard-hitting missionary quote, a quick-look at a particular geographical area of the world, a look at a recommended missionary biography book or resource tool, a targeted mission-minded Bible verse, and a practical (and very specific) challenge for you and your family.
In just eight weeks, you’ll move forward toward becoming a more effective family for eternity. Spread the word . . . invite a friend to join you in the challenge, or a young person with a heart for missions, or another family, or maybe even your Sunday school class or a home group.
Take the Challenge!
A Personal Note:
This 40-Day Mission-Minded FAMILY CHALLENGE is designed to be utilized over 8-weeks, although some families have been going through several videos (or even a week’s worth) at one time. To begin the challenge, you don’t need to “sign-up” for anything; instead, just click on a day’s title, watch the 4-5-minute video, take the suggested geography quiz-for-the-day, ponder or memorize the daily Bible verses and quotes, and then take ACTION on that day’s CHALLENGE. Suggested links and mission resources are added each day to assist you and your family in further learning. Please feel free to add your own feedback and comments . . . as you allow the Lord to draw you closer to Himself, and to stir-up more of His passion for the lost. We trust it will be a blessing (and a challenge) to you and your family!
As Hudson Taylor, the famous missionary to China said, “The Great Commission is not an option to consider, but a command to obey.”And as I say, “Missions is not just for missionaries; God’s call is for all.”
