Harvest Ministry is an international Christian missions outreach, founded in 1987 by Jon and Ann Dunagan of Hood River, Oregon — focused on proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ through: International Outreaches, National Evangelism Team Support (NETS), Orphan Ministry, and motivating Christians for God’s Great Commission through Mission-Minded LIFE.


“Then He [Jesus] said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37 NKJV).
“He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame” (Proverbs 10:5).

How Harvest Ministry began . . .2

In 1987 (at only 21 years old, and with only $27), Jon and Ann Dunagan stepped out into “full-time” evangelistic work and established Harvest Ministry as an international Christian missions outreach. From the very beginning, the focus of Harvest Ministry has been missions, evangelism, and soulwinning. Our primary purpose is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world (especially with people who have never heard it) and our specific mission is to bring in, or to “reap” a “harvest” of souls into God’s Kingdom.

Since its founding, by God’s grace, Harvest Ministry has proclaimed the Gospel in over 70 different countries on hundreds of international outreaches, and with ministry onto all seven continents (including Antarctica).

“Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2 NKJV).

Through International Outreaches and N.E.T.S., Harvest Ministry has preached face-to-face to several million people, to large city-wide crowds and small village gatherings, with well over 1.5 million individuals surrendering their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. What a joy it has been to witness multitudes being saved, healed, delivered, and water baptized, and to see national ministers equipped to reach their own people and surrounding nations with God’s salvation and New Life. As a result of these outreaches, we praise God that over 400 self-supporting churches have been planted in remote areas.

Our PASSION for SOULS . . .

Specifically, the Lord has called Harvest Ministry to WORLD EVANGELISM in places where the “harvest is ripe” and people are most eager to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ. Many times, God leads us to countries where other Christian believers (perhaps generations before) obediently sacrificed or literally gave their lives — without ever seeing the fruit of their labor. God has simply called us to go and reap the harvest that is now ready and waiting. Primarily, this vision is accomplished through International Outreaches, National Evangelism Team Support (NETS), Orphan Ministry, and Mission-Minded LIFE.

Harvest Ministry and the Dunagan family are based in Hood River, Oregon.

In remote cities or villages, typical week-long outreaches include evangelistic preaching in city stadiums of parks, special music, altar calls for salvation and healing, showing the JESUS movie in a local language (when possible), and training national ministers.

N.E.T.S.

Orphan Ministry

Harvest Ministry has two orphanages in Uganda, East Africa. Osanidde, meaning “You Are Worthy”, cares for 160 orphans in a village island setting, and Guma Na Yesu, meaning “Keep with Jesus”, cares for 450 orphans through a school/church/family network.
